In Case You Missed It: A Look Back At The Week That Was September 14-20

Last week was another jam packed week full of MMA action. Both Bellator MMA and UFC held events over the weekend. Bellator MMA hosted Bellator 125: Marshall vs. Manhoeff, from Save Mart Center, in Fresno, California, where we saw Melvin Manhoeff brutally knock out Dough Marshall in the first round. In addition, the UFC held UFC Fight Night 52: Hunt vs. Nelson from Saitana Super Arena, Saitana, Japan, where a resurging Mark Hunt continued his climb up the mountain towards a title shot as he became only the 2nd person credited with a knockout victory over Roy Nelson. Hunt was able to a land beautiful upper cut that sent Nelson falling to the canvas like a might oak tree in the 2nd round of their main event fight. In addition to the two solid events hosted by Bellator MMA and the UFC, there were several fight announcements made last week, as well as additional news stories.
