On Sunday, September 21st WWE held Night of Champions 2014 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennesssee.

In the main event of the evening John Cena invoked his rematch clause to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Last month at Summerslam Lesnar obliterated Cena landing sixteen suplexes in the process to become the champion. Cena was booked very strongly this past month and looks ready for the challenge that Lesnar will bring. This will be the third meeting between Lesnar and Cena since Lesnar returned to the WWE in 2012. Cena defeated Lesnar at Extreme Rules that year, so this will be the rubber match between the two.

Night of Champions featured every title in the WWE up for grabs. Dolph Ziggler defended his Intercontinental title against The Miz in another Summerslam rematch. Sheamus defended his United States Championship against Cesaro. The Usos defended their tag team titles against Goldust and Stardust in a battle of teams of brothers. Finally Paige defended her Diva’s championship in a triple threat match against A.J. Lee and Nikki Bella. Also featured on the card were grudge matches between Mark Henry and Rusev and Chris Jericho had the swan song of his current WWE run against Randy Orton. Roman Reigns was scheduled to take on former Shield teammate, Seth Rollins, but Reigns was forced out of the match due to an emergency surgery for a hernia just hours before the event. It was unknown whether Rollins would still compete on the card.

The entire card aired live on Pay Per View and the WWE Network. Full results are below.
