A lightweight matchup between two of the UFC’s hottest fighters has officially been added to UFC 181.

On Wednesday, UFC officials announced Tony Ferguson will meet Abel Trujillo in the highly anticipated December fight card in Las Vegas.

Ferguson (16-3), winner of The Ultimate Fighter 13, is coming off of a split decision victory over Team Alpha Male product Danny Castillo in the co-main event of UFC 177 last month. Prior to this win ‘El Cucuy’ walked away with a violent second round knockout over Japanese import Katsunori Kikuno at UFC 173 in May. Ferguson enters this bout with a UFC record of 6-1, including four by way of stoppage.

Trujillo (12-5), a member of the Blackzillian camp, is coming a thrilling come from behind victory over former WEC champion Jamie Varner at UFC 169 in February, earning both Knockout and Fight of the Night bonuses in the process. He will enter this bout with a UFC record of 3-1.

UFC 181 is set to take place on Dec. 6 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. A welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler will serve as the night’s main event.
