(Dave Mandel/Sherdog)Who’s on the Hot Seat at UFC Fight Night 56? RJ Gardner November 5, 2014 Events, Previews, Spotlight On November 8, 2014, the UFC heads to the Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves in Uberlandia, Brazil for UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. St. Preux. Originally, the main event was set to feature a bout between living legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and English knockout artist Jimi Manuwa, but Manuwa had to pull out of the bout due to injury. Rua is now set to face talented up -and-comer, Ovince St. Preux. With only so many places available on the UFC’s active roster, fighters know they need to win if want to continue competing for the premiere MMA organization in the world. Heading in to Saturday, there are two fighters who are currently on the hot seat and are in danger of being cut with another loss. Charlie Brenneman Brenneman is currently on his second stint in the UFC and he is 0-2 since being resigned to the organization earlier this year after winning four straight on the regional circuit. Brenneman’s last UFC win came in January of 2011 when he edged out Daniel Roberts via unanimous decision. The fact of the matter is Brenneman is winless in the Octagon in his last four bouts and if he loses on Saturday night, he will be back to fighting on the regional scene. Dhiego Lima Lima is a talented young fighter who potentially could have a very bright future in the UFC, but the TUF 19 middleweight tournament runner-up is going to have to get a win at UFC Fight Night 56. There is a good chance that Lima could survive being cut should be lose as this will be his first real fight in the UFC outside of the TUF competition, but a win would guarantee his place in the organization. Stay tuned for the latest news and updates revolving around UFC Fight Night 56.
