In the night’s main event light heavyweights Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Ovince Saint Preux will look to get back on the right track. Most believed Shogun was in the twilight of his career until his brutal knockout of James Te Huna last December. In his bout following that the Brazilian was dominating Dan Henderson before he was knocked out by one of Henderson’s signature “H-Bombs” in the third round. Shogun was originally slated to face Jimi Manuwa in this bout, but Saint Preux now steps in due to an injury to Manuwa. Saint Preux’s original opponent, Rafael Cavalcante also was forced to withdraw from this card leaving the two fighters without an opponent an easy choice for the new main event. This will be Saint Preux’s second taste of the main event spotlight. His last fight was a main event bout against Ryan Bader. Saint Preux fell via decision in a bout that ended a stellar five fight win streak. The UFC will again feature a plethora of Brazilian up and comers on the eleven fight card. The action kicks off with one preliminary fight on UFC Fight Pass at 7:30 p.m. ET followed by five prelims on Fox Sports 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
