A little more than 24 hours ago, Wanderlei Silva was announced as the latest UFC veteran to join the Bellator MMA brand.

But on Tuesday night, Bellator MMA announced “The Axe Murderer” has been pulled from his upcoming appearance at the Bellator 131 pre-fight festivities due to his contract obligations with the UFC.

Silva was scheduled join Royce Gracie, Randy Couture and Frank Shamrock at the San Diego Dave & Buster’s on Friday, November 14, for a meet-and-greet with the fans immediately following the Bellator 131 weigh-ins.

Bellator 131 takes place on Saturday, November 15th from Valley View Casino Center. The night will feature one of the biggest grudge matches in the sport as Ortiz looks to settle the score with Bonnar in the light heavyweight main event. A lightweight title fight between Michael Chandler and Will Brooks will serve as the co-main event.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased on Bellator.com, AXS.com, as well as the Valley View Casino Center.
