Legacy Fighting Championships has yet another great event lined up for fight fans. The main card  for Legacy FC 37 will air live on AXS TV at 1o p.m. ET from the Arena Theater in Houston, Texas.

The card’s main event has two very well-known former UFC fighters challenging for the number one contendership in the Legacy FC featherweight division. Leonard Garcia will be taking on Daniel Pineda to determine who deserves the next shot at the gold. The main event is scheduled as a 3 round fight.

Leonard Garcia made his name fighting in the WEC and the UFC with his over the top, aggressive fight style. Early on, he found victories over big names such as Jens Pulver, Chan Sung Jung, and Nam Phan. His aggressive style may have won him the love of fight fans, but it also cost him in the long run. Between 2011 and 2013, he accumulated five losses in a row and was let go by the UFC. After exiting the UFC, he entered Legacy FC and was immediately faced with some of the top talent on the regional scene. He put together a three-fight win streak and captured the Legacy FC featherweight championship. In his last outing, he lost it to now-UFC fighter Damon Martin. Garcia is close to getting back to the belt and even with the loss to Martin, I’m sure he is being watched closely by the larger promotions. The challenge ahead of him is quite possibly his most difficult since joining Legacy.

Daniel Pineda has fought in many promotions, but when he returns to Legacy it will be somewhat of a homecoming. When the UFC initially prospected Pineda, it was because of what he had done in Legacy. In his last run in LFC, Pineda put together a five-fight win streak and also captured the Legacy featherweight championship. An accomplished collegiate wrestler, with a total of twelve submissions and six knock out victories he is going to be dangerous no matter where the fight takes place.
