‘The Natural Born Killer’ is back.

According to reports the UFC is looking to book a matchup between two of the most devastating strikers in the welterweight division in Carlos Condit and Thiago Alves for UFC Fight Night 67 in May. MMAJunkie’s Steven Morrocco was the first to report the news.

Condit (29-8), a former UFC interim welterweight champion, has been seen seen inside the Octagon since tearing both his ACL and meniscus in his second round TKO loss to Tyron Woodley last March. Prior to this setback, Condit, also a former WEC champion, earned a violent fourth round TKO over Martin Kampann, avenging his 2009 loss in the process.

This victory snapped Condit’s two fight losing skid, with both losses coming against former champions Georges St. Pierre and Johnny Hendircks, earning Fight of the Night for both performances. He will enter this bout with 27 career stoppages and a UFC record of 6-3

Alves (20-9), also a former UFC title contender, is coming off a rib shattering second TKO over Jordan Mein at UFC 183 in January. This marked his second straight win inside the Octagon since making his long awaited return from injury last April. This marked the American Top Team product’s second straight win inside the Octagon, with his previous being a unanimous decision victory in his Fight of the Night performance against Seth Baczynski at UFC on FOX 11.

Prior to this string of wins, ‘The Pitbull’ missed 25 months of actionafter suffering a series of injures in camp, several of which required sugery. He will enter this bout with 13 career stoppage victories, including 11 by way of knockout, and a UFC record of 12-6.

UFC Fight Night 67 is currently scheduled to take place on May 30. While a venue has not been named it is expected to take place somewhere in Brazil.
