Unlike other professional sports, there is no offseason in MMA. Week in and week out, fight cards all over the world are taking place. Some weeks there will be major fight cards filled with big name fighters others not so much, but there are fights taking place every week.

Regardless of whether the fighters are household names or not, The MMA Corner will preview the best fight taking place during the week.

This week’s Fight of the Week is the Bellator bantamweight title fight between Joe Warren and Marcos Galvao.
On Friday, March 27, 2015 Bellator returns to the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. for Bellator 135: Warren vs. Galvao 2.

Warren and Galvao are not strangers to one another as the two met back at Bellator 41 where Warren took home a questionable unanimous decision victory. Since that time, Galvao has gone 7-2 with three wins coming by way of knockout. Warren on the other hand dropped back-to-back bouts after his win over Galvao, but has since rattled off five straight victories.

Since losing to Warren, Galvao’s game has greatly improved; specifically his stand up game. When the two first met, Galvao was able to get the better of the striking exchanges, so expect to see an even more one sided affair on the feet this time around.

For Warren to win this bout, he needs to dictate the pace, score takedowns and get the fight into the championship rounds. Warren doesn’t have the all-around game that Galvao does, but his gritty pressure wrestling style is the perfect weapon against a fighter who has never been to the championship rounds.

There first fight was extremely close with many believing that Galvao won the bout. Expect to see another close bout, but the winner will be the fighter who has evolved more since their first bout.
