On Monday night, the UFC announced the featherweight matchup between Dennis Bermudez and Jeremy Stephens had officially been added to UFC 189 in July.

Bermudez (14-3), the runner up on season 14 of The Ultimate Fighter, will be looking to get back into the win column after seeing his seven fight win streak snapped at the hands Ricardo Lamas in the form of a first round submission at UFC 180 in November. Of his seven previous wins, three ended came by way of stoppage, including an impressive second round submission over fan favorite Clay Guida.

Stephens (23-11) will also be looking to right his ship after dropping his last two bouts to Charles Oliveira and Cub Swanson. Prior to this string of losses, fans saw the ‘Lil’ Heathen’ pick up three straight wins as a featherweight, including a violent headkick knockout of Rony Jason, after making the drop down from lightweight in 2013.

UFC 189 is currently scheduled to take place on July 11 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. A featherweight title fight between 145-pound kingpin Jose Aldo and Irish megastar Conor McGregor will serve as the headlining act while a welterweight title fight between newly crowned champion Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald will meet in the co-main event.
