After an exhilarating afternoon of fights last weekend at UFC Fight Night 63, the UFC will be back in action this weekend. For the first time ever the UFC will head to the Krakow Arena in Krakow, Poland, for UFC Fight Night: Gonzaga vs. Cro Cop 2.

While Saturday, April, 11, 2015’s card isn’t the greatest card the organization has ever put together, it is a solid international card with plenty of Polish talent for the home crowd to cheer for.

For the gamblers out there, this card might not be overly appealing, but the top two billed bouts both have upset potential and that’s always enticing.

Jan Blachowicz, +135 vs. Jimi Manuwa, -155

The co-main event between Blachowicz and Manuwa is a great matchup and my pick for “Fight of the Night”. Both men like to stand and trade and both men have the power to end the fight with one shot. Manuwa is a beast on the feet with a lot of power and aggression, but Blachowicz is much more than just a striker. The more well-rounded of the two Blachowicz’s arsenal will prove to be a huge factor in this bout.

The other thing to keep in mind heading into Saturday is the fact that Manuwa has never competed outside of the UK. On Saturday, not only will he be outside of the UK, but he will be taking on Blachowicz in front of a rabid crowd of his fellow countrymen. All the pieces are there for Blachowicz to pull off the slight upset.

Play: Take Blachowicz to win

Gabriel Gonzaga, -170 vs. Mirko Filipovic, +150

On Saturday, April 21, 2007, Gonzaga shocked the world when de defeated Filipovic to secure a shot at the UFC heavyweight title. It’s wasn’t shocking that Gonzaga won – at the time Gonzaga was a top tier heavyweight with a great ground game – it was shocking how he won. Gonzaga knocked Filipovic out in the very first round with a brutal head kick; Filipovic’s signature move.

Now almost eight years later, Filipovic has an opportunity at revenge. Filipovic may be past his prime at this point, but he will be extra motivated heading into Saturday night. Expect to see vintage Filipovic.
