RFA vs. Legacy Superfight: What to Watch For RJ Gardner May 4, 2015 AXS TV FIGHTS, Events, Previews, Spotlight Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Championship are two of the most respected regional MMA promotions in the world. Both have become legitimate developmental leagues for the UFC, Bellator and WSOF; consistently promoting and showcasing up and coming talent. On Friday, May 8, 2015, RFA and Legacy will co-promote an event that will feature a champion vs. champion superfight between Legacy flyweight champion Damacio Page and RFA flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja. Fans always like to discuss whether this promotion’s champion can beat that promotion’s champion and thanks to the RFA, Legacy, and AXS TV, fans will get the answers they have been looking for. Hopefully this isn’t just a one-off event either because it would be interesting to see how these organizations’ champions fare against one another. Legacy FC Lightweight Title The first title fight of the evening is for the Legacy lightweight strap and features 23-year-old Dave Burrow and veteran Mike Bronzoulis. This is a great stylistic matchup as Bronzoulis is a rough and tumble brawler and Burrow is a slick submission specialist. Winner of five straight – all by way of armbar – look for Burrow to have a technical edge. RFA Bantamweight Title In the co-main event of the evening, RFA bantamweight champion Luke Sanders puts his title on the line against Terrion Ware. Winner of eight of his last nine bouts, Ware has earned this title show by showing he can win no matter where the fight takes place. A well-rounded athlete, Ware’s multifaceted approach may just have what it takes to put the first blemish on Sanders’ record. But he’s going to have to survive the vicious striking game of Sanders who has won six of nine career bouts by way of knockout. Superfight Flyweight Title This is what it is all about; champion vs. champion, title vs. title, organization vs. organization. These kinds of fights do not happen often in MMA and when they do, everyone should tune in. Representing Legacy FC is their flyweight champion Damacio Page. A winner of three straight – all by way of stoppage – Page is a tough and dangerous veteran. Representing RFA is their flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja. A winner of eight in a row – six by way of stoppage – Pantoja is one of the best young prospects in the sport today. With organizational pride on the line in addition to a coveted superfight title, this should be a great bout.
