After a week long lay off, the UFC is back in action this week with a great fight card. On Sunday, May 10, 2015, the UFC heads down under to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia, for UFC Fight Night: Miocic vs. Hunt.

For a card being broadcast solely on UFC Fight Pass, this really a tremendous fight card. It may not feature any #1 contender bouts or title bouts, but it is loaded with interesting matchups.

With a main card featuring extremely close matchups, this card is a gamblers dream. These are the kind of cards that can produce solid paydays if you know what you are doing.

Jake Matthews, -165 vs. James Vick, +145

Kicking off the main card is a lightweight bout between undefeated fighters Matthews and Vick. These are two of the best young lightweights in the UFC and this bout will decide who moves up to that next level of competition in the division. Matthews will be fighting in front of a home crowd so he should have an edge.

Pick: Take Matthews to win

Anthony Perosh, -170 vs. Sean O’Connell, +150

The second bout of the evening is light heavyweight bout between Perosh and O’Connell. This one is a tough on to pick. Perosh has power, a grappling advantage and he will be fighting in front of a home crowd. But O’Connell is a pretty solid striker and Perosh has been knocked out five times in his career. Ultimately, fighting at home is a huge advantage that Perosh should cash in on.

Pick: Take Perosh to win

Brad Tavares, -160 vs. Robert Whittaker, +140

The co-main event of the evening features a middleweight bout between Tavares and Whittaker. The UFC middleweight division has become one of the most exciting divisions in MMA today and both men are looking to ascend to the next level of competition. Whittaker is younger and more dynamic, but Tavares only loses to elite wrestlers; something Whittaker is not.

Pick: Take Tavares to win

Stipe Miocic, -225 vs. Mark Hunt, +185

In the main event of the evening, heavyweight strikers Miocic and Hunt will battle it out to keep pace in a wide open UFC heavyweight division. A fan favorite wherever he goes Hunt’s power or toughness makes his a dangerous foe, but Miocic seems to have turned a corner as a fighter. His performance against Junior dos Santos – even though he lost – was brilliant and it showed that he is one of the best heavyweights in the world today. Hunt can end the fight with one shot, but Miocic’s movement and speed should be enough to keep him out of trouble.

Pick: Take Miocic to win
