Almost a month after asking for, and receiving, her release from World Series of Fighting, the former WSOF strawweight champion has officially singed with the UFC and is now scheduled to meet Claudia Gadelha at UFC 190 in August. Combate was the first to report the news. Aguilar (19-4), currently the number one strawweight according to the Unified Women’s Mixed Martial Arts rankings, was last seen defending her WSOF belt against Kalindra Faria at WSOF 15. This pushed her win streak to 10 straight, which includes a split decision over former UFC champion Carla Esparza. Gadelha (12-1) will be looking to get back in to the win column after suffering he first professional loss in the form of a controversial split decision to current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk in December. The Brazilian was expected to return against TUF 21 competitor Aisling Daly before being forced out with a back injury. UFC 190 is set to take place on Aug.1 at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. A women’s bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia will serve as the headlining act.
