On Friday afternoon, it was revealed ‘The Chosen One’ had been promised the winner the welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, which is scheduled for UFC 195 in January. This news comes just hours after it was revealed Woodley’s next scheduled opponent, Johny Hendricks, had pulled out of their bout after dealing with weight cutting issues. The two were expected to meet in a number one contender’s bout in the co-main event of UFC 192 this weekend. Woodley (14-3), a two-time NCAA Division I All-American out the University of Missouri, was last seen earning a split decision over Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 183 in January. This victory extended his win streak two straight with his previous win being a violent first-round knockout over Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night 48 in August.
