On Monday afternoon, the UFC announced the welterweight contest between Kelvin Gastelum and Kyle Noke had officially been added to UFC 195 in January.

For Gastelum (11-2), the winner of the The Ultimate Fighter 17 tournament, this will be a quick turnaround as he was last seen dropping a close split decision to Neil Magny at the TUF: Latin America 2 Finale in November.

Prior to this setback, the Arizona native defeated longtime UFC veteran and former Strikeforce champion Nate Marquardt at UFC 188. He will enter this contest with eight career stoppage wins and a UFC record of 6-2.

His opponent Noke (22-7-1), a veteran from season 11 of TUF, will be looking to pick up his third straight win inside the Octagon. In his most recent contest, the Australian earned a violent TKO victory over Peter Sobotta in front of his of hometown crowd at UFC 193 in November. This marked his eigth straight TKO victory and first since 2012.

UFC 195 takes place Jan. 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. A welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit is expected to serve as the main event.
