On Tuesday morning, NBC executives revealed the former UFC bantamweight champion has been tabbed to host Saturday Night Live on Jan. 23. Rousey will join the likes of Marvel Marvin Gagler and George Foreman as the only combat sports athletes to host the long running comedy show. This will also mark Rousey’s first major appearance since suffering her first career loss when fans saw Holly Holm turn her lights out with a violent headkick early in second round of their UFC 193 title fight. Prior to this loss, the women known as “Rowdy” had looked unbeatable, while being praised as the most dominant athlete in the world today. The former champion would later express her desire for time off after dropping her title. Pop singer Selene gomez is also scheduled to appear as the musical guest during the same episode.
