WWE NXT may be a developmental program for the biggest wrestling organization in the world, but die hard wrestling fans everywhere will tell you that there is better action occurring on every NXT show than Smackdown and Raw. While the NXT wrestlers have their own weekly show on the WWE Network, they really get their chance to shine at the NXT TakeOver events. These events are a great way for the up and coming wrestlers to prove that they belong on the big stage in the WWE.

The most recent NXT TakeOver was just completed in London on December 16, and the WWE did not waste any time announcing the next special event. NXT TakeOver: Dallas will be held on April 1, 2016, just two days before WrestleMania. There are surely going to be some surprises in store for wrestling fans as the NXT roster looks to shine a few days before the biggest wrestling event in the world. While WWE NXT TakeOver: Dallas is still a few months away, it is never to early to start making predictions.

NXT Championship

Finn Balor has quickly become one of the most interesting wrestlers in the world, but a lot of fans have never seen him perform on NXT. Many people thought that Balor would lose his NXT Championship match in London to Samoa Joe so he could move up to the main WWE roster, but that did not happen. It is safe to assume that Finn Balor will remain the NXT Champion until NXT TakeOver: Dallas in April, but his opponent potential opponent remains a mystery. NXT does not like to keep feuds running for too long, so Samoa Joe is extremely unlikely to get a rematch.

Sami Zayn is the only logical wrestler on the NXT roster that can challenge Finn Balor for the NXT Championship. Zayn is the only former NXT champion that is not currently on the main WWE roster, so it would not be shocking to see him win back the title. No matter who he faces, the betting odds are in favor of Balor losing the title this April. Losing the title will allow Finn Balor to move up to the WWE main roster while giving NXT a new champion.

NXT Women’s Championship

The WWE has had a hard time finding a way to keep the fans interested in the women’s matches, but that is not a problem in NXT. All 10,000 fans in London were enthralled by the NXT Women’s Championship match between Bayley and Nia Jax. NXT has perfected women’s wrestling, and they are consistently proving wrestling fans can be just as interest in the women as the men. The improved wrestling in the NXT women’s division has quickly made Bayley one of the biggest stars in the promotion.

There are a lot of great choices for Bayley’s opponent at WWE NXT TakeOver: Dallas, Asuka probably makes the most sense. Asuka has rapidly developed a strong fan base due to her ruthless wrestling style. If the WWE decides to go in a different direction, the Emma is a dark horse to get the title shot in April. While Emma just lost her match against Asuka at NXT TakeOver: London, she put on a great match that really developed her heel character. If Emma continues to develop her strong persona, the WWE may decide to reward her with a title match in Dallas. Bayley is still a strong favorite to keep the NXT Women’s Championship following the big event in Dallas.

WWE NXT is filled with amazing wrestlers that are ready to jump up to the big stage in the promotion. The deep talent level in NXT proves that the WWE has a bright future as their biggest stars start to age. It can be tough to make predictions for a wrestling event a little over three months away because almost anything can happen between now and then, but wrestling fans are guaranteed to see an amazing show regardless of the match card.
