With a combined 11 Fight of the Nights bonuses and four Fight of the Years between them, UFC lightweight veterans Diego Sanchez and Jim Miller will finally do battle at UFC 197 in March.

UFC officials announced the bout on Wednesday afternoon.

The winner of season one of the The Ultimate Fighter and former lightweight title contender, Sanchez (25-8) will be looking to right the ship after dropping a lop-sided decision loss to former title contender Ricardo Lamos in their featherweight fight at TUF: Latin America 2 Finale in November. It was not soon after, Sanchez announced his intention of returning to the 155-pound division.

His loss to Lamas also marked, the Albuquerque native’s first appearance inside the Octagon since his controversial split-decision win over Ross Pearson in June 2014. Since then ‘The Nightmare’ had struggled with injures before announcing his plan to drop to 145-pounds. Prior to his win over Pearson, Sanchez dropped back-to-back decision losses to former title contender Gilbert Melendez and Myles Jury.

Miller (25-7) will also be looking to get back into the win column after suffering a second round submission loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC Fight Night 80 in December. This setback not only marked his third loss in his last four bouts, but also marked his first submission loss in three years. The New Jersey native previously earned a close split decision win over Danny Castillo in July. To date his last stoppage win came over Yancy Medeiros at UFC 172 in April 204.

UFC 197 is currently scheduled to take place March 7 in Las Vegas. A lightweight title fight between reigning champion Rafael dos Anjos vs. featherweight champion Conor McGregor will serve as the main event. A women’s bantamweight title fight between Holly Holm and Miesha Tate will also take place on the carx
