A heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem and his Jackson-Wink MMA teammate Andrei Arlovski is being targeted for the main event of UFC Fight Night 87 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Jeremy Botter of Bleacher Report was the first to report the news. Arlovski would later post an image to his Instagram, confirming the matchup.

Overeem (40-14), a former Strikeforce & Dream champion as well as the 2010 K-1 Grand Prix champion, recently announced he had re-signed with the UFC earlier this month. In terms of competition, “The Reem” is coming off a violent knockout victory over former UFC champion Junior Dos Santos, which came late in the second round of their UFC on FOX 17 matchup in December. This extended the Dutch kickboxer’s win streak to three straight.

He previously picked apart Roy Nelson en route to a decision win at UFC 185 and finished Stefan Struve at UFC on FOX 13.

Arlovski (25-11), a former UFC champion, will be looking to get back into the win column after suffering a first round knockout to Stipe Miocic at UFC 195 in January. This loss snapped the Belarusian’s six fight streak, which included knockouts over Travis Browne and Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva. His win over Browne had widely appeared on the shortlist for the 2015 Fight of the Year.

UFC Fight Night 87 s scheduled to take place on May 8 at Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The main card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following the prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
