(Dave Mandel/Sherdog)Kimbo Slice & Ken Shamrock Both Test Positive for Steroids Jake Schneider March 23, 2016 Bellator, Bellator Events, Events, News, Promotions, Recaps, Spotlight Bellator 149 was the highest grossing and most talked about event in the promotion’s history, and now after the drug testing results have come back, the event continues to make headlines. Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Ken Shamrock have both tested positive for anabolic steroids. The violation can be up to a one year suspension as well as a $5,000 fine. For Kevin Ferguson, also know as “Kimbo Slice”, this is the first failed drug test of his mixed martial arts career, and after his performance in the co-main event slot against Dada 5000, this comes as a bit of a shock to everyone. On the other hand, this is Ken Shamrock’s second offense, failing a drug test dating back to 2009, as well. Not only were steroids found in his system, methadone, a drug used to treat addiction to narcotic drugs. Bellator has declined to comment on both fighters failed drug tests at the moment but it can be assumed that Shamrock (52) and Ferguson (42) have seen their last days fighting professionally.
