Michelle Waterson vs. Aisling Daly Booked For UFC Fight Night 93 Jay Anderson July 19, 2016 News, Spotlight, UFC The Karate Hottie, Michelle Waterson, will return to the UFC octagon September 3 at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany as part of UFC Fight Night 93 when she takes on Conor McGregor’s SBG teammate Aisling Daly. Waterson confirmed the news via Twitter Tuesday, saying she was “very excited to be fighting again” and couldn’t wait to share the news. Waterson (13–4), a former Invicta FC atomweight champion, made the jump to the UFC — and up in weight to the strawweight division — last Summer, defeating Angela Magana by submission at The Ultimate Fighter 21 finale July 12, 2015. She was then scheduled to face Tecia Torres in November, but was forced to withdraw due to a knee injury. Now healthy, the bout against Daly will mark her second UFC fight and first in a year. For Daly’s part, the fight will be her first of 2016. Daly (16–6) was last seen at UFC Fight Night 76 in Dublin, Ireland. The hometown girl defeated Ericka Almeida by unanimous decision at the event. Waterson sits at 11 in the UFC’s official rankings for the strawweight division. Daly is not ranked. UFC Fight Night 93 is headlined by a heavyweight clash between former champions who have yet to meet in their professional careers as Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski takes on Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett. Elsewhere on the card, two-time title challenger Alexander Gustafsson takes on Jan Blachowicz, and fellow light heavyweight contender Ryan Bader meets Ilir Latifi.
