The story of retired MMA fighter and current professional wrestler Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar is by no means the first fighter to work for both the UFC and the WWE. But he is one of the only people to do it simultaneously and be so successful in both sports. Today, we are going to look at the life and career of this amazing fighter.

Who is Brock Lesnar?

Brock Lesnar is an American-Canadian fighter who has worked for the NFL, the WWE, the UFC, and FEG.

Lesnar was born and raised on his parent’s farm in Wisconsin. He played football in high school. He went on to present Minnesota at the collegiate level in Wrestling.

Brock Lesnar is only one of three wrestlers to win King of the Ring, the Royal Rumble, and Money in the Bank in their career. Lesnar has 4 children (two sets of twins) and is married to fellow wrestler Rene Greek.

He has starred in multiple movies. He has been featured in nearly every WWE game for the last 20 years and has even been featured in two UFC video games.

His time as an MMA fighter

Brock Lesnar began his MMA career with the FEG (Fighting and Entertainment Group) and debuted at their Dynamite!! USA show in 2007. He beat Min Soo Kim in one minute and nine seconds.

Lesnar impressed everyone so much in this fight that he was signed by the UFC and made his debut with them 6 months later wearing size 4XL gloves (the second MMA fighter in the USA ever to do so). Lesnar lost his first match but went on to win his second.

In the next two years, Lesnar earned the title of undisputed heavyweight champion of the UFC. Lesnar lost the title after six months, but jointly holds the record for the longest defense of the heavyweight championship.

In 2011, Lesnar became ill and retired from the UFC for the first time.

Brock Lesnar made his return to the UFC in for a one-off match at UFC 200 (before permanently returning to the WWE). Lesnar fought Mark Hunt and unanimously beat Hunt, winning himself a prize purse of $2.5 million dollars. However, Lesnar was found to be doping and the decision was overturned. Lesnar had previously been arrested in 2001 for possession of steroids.

Brock Lesnar was the highest paid UFC fighter of all time until Conor McGregor beat that record in 2021 – for more on the UFC and UFC fights odds visit this site.

His time in the WWE and the NFL

The NFL

In between his first stint at the WWE and beginning MMA, Brock Lesnar had announced that he was planning to join the NFL.

Many teams showed interest in him and he had even been to a Vikings training camp. However, he was hit by a minivan while riding his motorbike. His jaw was shattered and his groin was badly injured. This injury delayed Lesnar’s plans but he eventually did sign with the Vikings and played in a few of their preseason games.

The WWE

Brock Lesnar has one of the most successful ever careers with WWE – he is only one of three men to have won King of the Ring, the Royal Rumble, and Money in the Bank in their career.

Lesnar first joined the WWE in 2000. He fought with the company for 3 years before retiring for the first time. He fought with a Japanese company for 2 years while he was in a legal feud with the WWE.

In 2012, Lesnar returned to the WWE and knocked out John Cena in his first fight – shocking the WWE community. During this period Brock went on to defeat many other stars of the WWE. Lesnar retired in July of 2021 before returning to the WWE in August of 2021.
